The fault for the blue hdi lies in the venting cap of the urea tank. The original design did not vent properly, meaning that as the urea tank empties a vacuum is created in the tank. The urea pump and sensor then has to work much harder to pump urea and eventually it fails prematurely. Citroen and Peugeot replaced all the caps with a new design

You can tell if it has a DPF - look down the front of the engine, and if it has a DPF there will be a stainless pipe coming out of the CAT/DPF canister about 1/2 way down on the LHS as you look at it (and another one coming from underneath, but that is harder to see) - they then run together up to the driver's side of the
